Amlon Group acquires Excel TSD

Deal expands Amlon’s hazardous waste treatment capabilities and complements its existing processing and treatment infrastructure.

Amlon Group has expanded its presence in hazardous waste with the acquisition of Excel TSD of Tennessee LLC along with related entities WSI and UTI.

Based in Memphis, Tennessee, Excel TSD is a Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Part B permitted hazardous and non-hazardous waste treatment, storage and disposal facility that serves customers across a variety of end markets.

Amlon Group, based in Plano, Texas, says the deal closed in April. Excel TSD brings onside services, waste-blending capabilities and hazardous waste disposal permit and expertise that opens additional waste streams for the company.

“Beyond the facility itself, this acquisition strengthens our geographic presence in the mid-south region and gives us access to a diversified customer base across multiple end markets,” Amlon CEO and President Mark Wayne says. “We see meaningful opportunities to drive growth by cross-selling Amlon’s full suite of environmental services to Excel’s customers, implementing commercial best practices, and investing in the operations to maximize the facility’s capacity.”

Excel TSD is Amlon Group’s seventh acquisition under the ownership of Heartwood Partners, a middle-market private equity firm based in Norwalk, Connecticut. Most recently, Amlon acquired Lion Industrial Resources LLC in March.

Amlon adds that securing Excel TSD’s facility reinforces its ability to deliver fully integrated environmental solutions.

“We are proud to support Mark and the entire Amlon team in completing what has been a steadfast but highly strategic transaction,” says Demetrios Dounis, managing partner of Heartwood Partners. “The Excel acquisition is a compelling example of Amlon’s ability to identify and execute on strategic add-on opportunities that expand the company’s capabilities and geographic reach.”
